A desire for values aligned wealth

During my REBEL group coaching call today, my client told me she was an anti-capitalist but also wanted to be a millionaire

My initial response was “fuck yeah me too” and we continued to develop the strategy that would help her income streams bring in millions nearly passively starting today.

Now, at first this dissonance was confusing for me - could I really be an anti-capitalist, be anti-oppression, and STILL desire to have A LOT of  money

The answer is YES but holding onto those conflicting values leads people to undercharging for their services, not starting their business in the first place, and not positioning their gifts in a way that can convince people to actually use them so we are going to work through some of that dissonance today.

Here is how you can be an anti-capitalist, follow your values, and still make the money you'd like to make

Instead of placing capitalism as the central value in your business, you replace it with YOUR actual values 

For me, I value deep connection, impact, creativity, and expansion

Running a business that centers my values looks like

✨Connection: taking the time to build relationships, by providing $40,000+ of resources  to my community and keeping my commitment to always over deliber

✨Impact: Doing everything in my power to create results - if my clients are winning that means they are able to create powerful impact in the world to forward an array of incredible issues making my work even more powerful 

✨Creativity: Seeing my business as creative work, how can I try new things and do things differently to support my clients

✨Expansion: I am always learning and always growing so that I am THE BEST at anti-capitalist career guidance and support

Now if these values were rooted in capitalism, I would solely focus on how much I’m making and bragging about the income I bring in- that shift would take the heart out of my business, it would not align on my values. 

Placing these values in the center of my business has helped me be excited about my work, help my community in incredible ways AND live a lifestyle I adore where I’m exploring the world 

Here is how being a millionaire will make you a better anti-capitalist

Now, creating wealth ethically is only half of the problem, the other problem is moving through limiting beliefs like

“People who have money are bad”

“Eat the rich”

“All work is exploitation under capitalism” 

I have found that this makes it harder for my clients who want to be entrepreneurs to sink their teeth into their business because they are continually talking themselves out of their dreams.

You are never going to take action to build a better business for yourself if you keep believing that money is only capable of bad and negative things.

The reality is money is an amplifier

However you are spending your money right now is going to be amplified as you make more and more money. That shopping addiction, and uber eats habit, is only going to become a greater portion of your experience without intentional change. 

At the same time if you are operating aligned with your values, you are going to have more resources to live into your values. I desire to be a millionaire because:

• I desire being able to get my dad new teeth
• I desire to pay for renovations for my mom’s house
• I desire  to pay off my debt, my brothers debt, and my nephew’s debt and college tuition
• I desire a BEAUTIFUL house in California with a VIEW, hot tub, and sauna, 
• I desire to build a FOUNDATION where people with wealth can put money together to fund radical art initiatives
• I desire to adopt more pets and give them the best food and healthcare (and provide resources for a few shelters) ‘
• I desire more education, learning, and mentorship for myself so I can become a better human
• If I decide to have kids I desire to not have to bring them up under financial scarcity AND I want the time freedom to be with them as much as I can as they age

I can keep going but you get the gist money to me is an AMPLIFIER

We all get to choose how we participate in capitalism and how the world is shaped by our being here. So what choices will you make?
